Echeverría Izquierdo, recognized as one of the country’s leading real estate and construction groups, faced persistent challenges in the construction industry in 2017. Aware of the need for significant changes, its construction branch, Echeverría Izquierdo Edificaciones (EIE), identified the industrialization of the construction process as the answer, following the pattern of developed countries.
Adopting INNSPIRAL’s methodology, EIE designed a strategy that culminated in a portfolio of industrialization projects. Among them, a co-creation project with suppliers stood out, involving an innovative prototype of a prefabricated bathroom with horizontal installation in high-rise buildings. These experiments allowed validating the harmonization of architectural design with construction methods, boosting productivity, improving solution quality, and reducing delivery times.
By 2018, the culture of innovation in EIE had taken root, with clearly defined roles and processes, supported by the creation of an Innovation Committee. Senior executives of EIE were trained and certified in Innovation through a training program led by INNSPIRAL. Pablo Ivelic, Corporate General Manager of Echeverría Izquierdo, emphasized that INNSPIRAL not only provided a method for innovation but also committed to integrating it as a fundamental part of their DNA, thus anticipating future challenges that the Group will face.
